Currently the United States has one of the highest Corporate Taxes at 35% in the world. In fact if you add in state and local Corporate Taxes into it we have the second highest (39.25%) just behind Japan (39.54%). So members of congress are starting to say it’s time to overhaul the corporate tax code system. After all its been over a quarter century since it has been overhauled.
If I could make one suggestion it would be to lower it. What lower corporate taxes? Yes. Here is why. We lower Corporate Taxes to a flat rate of 12.5% and then take away all subsidies and loopholes. Companies make a profit it’s 12.5% taxes to the federal government. This would put every company both big and small on the same playing field. Right now GE has over 1,000 employees that job is to just find tax breaks and loop holes for them. No small business can compete with that or do that. Because of all of GE’s employees in their tax department they got out of paying any taxes in 2010. Let’s in corporate welfare and all their tax breaks and loopholes. The companies will get to keep 88.5% of everything they make still. If the US were to do that it would put us with one of the world’s lowest corporate taxes. Try to tell me that wouldn’t bring all kinds of companies back to the United States.
Right now the United States uses free trade agreements to promote trade between the US and other countries. But at the same time we charge the world’s 2nd largest tariff on US made goods Corporate Income Tax. Why don’t people view a higher tax on domestic goods as a tariff on domestic made products? Lowering the Corporate Tax rate to a flat rate with no loopholes, subsidies, and tax breaks would be great. Businesses both big and small would be on the same playing field. Who knows when we see this works maybe we create a flat tax on Personal Income as well. This is the greatest country the world has ever known and it could be even greater if we just had a few changes. Let’s let people who know how to create wealth and jobs keep their money to create wealth and jobs. Let people with an idea be able to act on it, and keep the benefits of their success or failure. Let’s make America the greatest country once again.
We hear about these Independent voters all the time and that you have to have them to win. But what is an independent voter? What do they stand for? We know what both Liberal and Conservatives and even Libertarians stand for, but the Independents. So why worry about what they think? Stand on your beliefs and they will follow you. Look at the last mid-term elections the Independents had buyer’s remorse on Obama and the direction he was taking this country and the Democrats were killed in the mid-terms. See I believe that most if not all Independents are Conservatives at heart. They don’t want this out-of-control spending that’s been going on the like few years under both Bush and Obama. They want a reasonable government. Yes, I know reasonable and government don’t go together very well. If Republicans want these valuable Independence so bad they better start standing up for True Conservative Beliefs or they will lose them. Maybe not to the Democrats, but to a 3rd party which would still give the Democrats the win. Everyone knows the Independence have left the Liberal/Democrat party if the Republicans have any chance of getting them they have to give them what they want. If the 2010 mid-terms was any indication the Independence want a smaller government and stop with all this spending. At the end of the day an Independent is nothing more than a closest Conservative on most issues. So it’s time to bring them out of the closest in show them that this time we are serious about cutting government. If the Republicans can do that than before long there won’t be any Independence to fight over. True Conservative values and God will win out every time over anything else.
Now that the FCC has their foot in the internet looks like they are heading after cell phones.
Why is it that the government wants into the internet and now cell phones so badley? The superem court has said they have no aduority on the web, but that didn’t stop them from passing Net Neutraility. Could it be that internet business now makes up 1/6 of the economy? Yes, that’s right internet business is the same percentage of the economy as health care. So by the government taking control of the internet and health care they would control 2/6 of the economy. WOW is right.
The FCC says they have to have Net Neutraility because the evil companies block or slow down me from getting to some sites. The FCC will make it fair. When was the last time the government made anything fair or better?
The internet is the most freest thing we have in America. I can look up anything I want, connect to people all around the world, or like this site create a blog for people with similar or different views to talk about them. Heck I can even play games and watch movies and tv problems, listen to music or the radio. The internet sounds pretty free to me. But now the FCC is going to protect me from my evil internet provider. Apparently they have been keeping me from getting to sites I want to visit and sending me to sites they want me to view. Isn’t that the same thing the government is now trying to do with Net Neutraility?
This is what you can expect when you let government create an agency such as the FCC to create rules and regulations. All they want to do is continue to grow and gain more power and money.
Some my ask I thought it was congress’s job to pass laws to protect us not some agency. Well I guess not. Why do we even need the FCC? The FCC controls our speach by creating rules. We don’t need them it’s just a $335 billion a year waste.
Letting people have the right to choose is the answer. I can choose which internet company I want to go with and then which package I want. When I go on the internet I can chose which sites I go to and not. But not once the government gets their hands on it. Think about it what has the government done to make your life work better than the private sector does. That’s why the FCC should be called the Federal Censorship Commission.
I just read an article about Cuba will begin driling in the Gulf of Mexico. I find this interesting because Obama won’t allow the US to drill there, but it’s okay for Cuba. Who has higher environmental standards the US or Cuba? If you said the US than you would be right. So knowing this if there is going to be drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and you care about the environment than wouldn’t it make more sense to let the US do the drilling than some other country?
This also goes right with the US making a $2 billion investment in Brazil for deep sea drilling a week ago. Obama said he hopes the US will be the largest buyer of their oil. Why would Obama want the US to be the number one buyer of oil there I thought we were moving away from oil? I thought oil was the energy of the past and we are moving toward the future of energy whatever that means. But with unemployment so high wouldn’t it make more sense for Obama to invest $2 billion in US oil drilling? Just think of how many jobs that would create? I am not for government subsizings any business, but if we are going to give money away at least be a US owned and operated one.
Can someone explain why Obama is doing this? Is it because he feels the US is only the greatest country in the world because it robbed other countries of their resources (even though we buy them)? It is just interesting how Obama says oil is the engery of the past, but yet we invest $2 billion into Brazil for oil drilling and now let Cuba drill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Does Obama feel that the US has been on top long enough and this is a way to bring us down and other countries up? I think we all know the answer to that one.
I just got done doing my taxes and because I didn’t make that much last year I am getting alot back. At first I was like YEAH! I am getting back all that. But then I got to thinking a little harder. What could I have done with that money throughout the year? It could have been used to invest in some stock or a mutual fund, it could have been used to buy something (video game or movie), it could have been put in a savings or cd account or I could have giving more to my church throughout the year with that money. Any of those would have been better than letting the government over tax me and then have to return some of my hard earned money back to me at the end of the year.
Federal Income tax used to be paid once a year, but during WW2 FDR changed that. He started having it taken out of your paycheck every week. Maybe that’s how tax rates go up so much. It’s just crazy I work hard all year for that money and then when I do my taxes I find out I have over paid by that much money.
Things like this make me wish we had a flat tax rate like Arthur Laffer says of 12.5% on income, corporate profit and capital gains. This would also be with no tax deductions. According to him and his research doing that we could balance our current budget. Just think everyone would be able to keep 88.5% of their income unless your state has an income tax. Just think what that could do to the economy. Many other countries have moved to a flat tax and have been able to balance their budgets. Wow a balance budget wouldn’t that be great?
So when you see how much money you are getting back on your taxes take time to think about how you could have been using that money throughout the year. I don’t know about you, but I know I can spend my money better than the government can spend it.
As most of you know we are now in another war or “conflict” in the Middle East. This one is with Libya to go alone with our other two we already have. The question I would like to ask is why are we in another war? Why are we getting into the middle of THEIR civil war? I am just tired of the US being the world’s police. It’s not our job. We cannot be getting into the middle of every countries civil war. We have been in Iraq and Afghanistan for 10 years now and it looks like we will never be out of there. Our we into fighting wars any more or is it more about nation building. Sure it would be nice to have more countries with democracy, but is this how you do it by force? This is not how America is suppose to act. We shouldn’t be involved in this war. Did we ask ourselves what will happen if the rebals take over? What kind of government they will put in place. What types of freedoms will that bring for these people? Or did we just listen and do what the UN said? I support our troops and pray for them. This is nothing against them they are the best in the world and I feel some of the best Americans among us. It’s just I am tired of the nation building wars. I am tired of us getting into other countries business. I feel the best way for America to bring Democracy and freedom to the rest of the world is to lead by example. Let the American people be free to choose and other countries will see that and demand it from their governments as well. Maybe that’s what these rebals did. But even if they did is it our job to get involved?
With whats has happened in Japan it has got me thinking. Does caring really matter?
I care about the people over there in Japan and hope they are safe. But how does that help them? Is sending money to them the answer? You have to be careful there because some organizion don’t do what they say. Clinton and Bush raised money for Haiti and when someone recently asked Bush if he knew how the money was spent he said no. Well atleast he was honest. Celebrities raise money for causes, but you never hear them giving any themselves. In some go over there to help like Sean Penn. But how much did he really help? What did he do hand out water?
As Americans and with over 70% of us Christans of course we care about others and we rush in the help with money and aid anytime something happens, but our we doing the right thing?
In some cases I think not look at all the money we give to Africa and all the food we give them are they any better for it? Should we instead teach them to fish instead of give them a fish? These countries start to depend on us for goods and they don’t work for themselves. They become welfare states.
Sure we should help one another out, but we should think alot harder about how we go about it. Is sending money the best way or is teaching them a skill better? I am not saying we shouldn’t care or that caring is not important. If caring about a cause gets you out there and trying to help it then it’s a good thing. Just don’t give blendly to a cause know how you donations are going to be used. All organizion have to put how much money goes to the cause and how much they keep for themselves so check it out. After all it’s your time and/or money don’t you want the best bang for you buck? I like many other Americans will keep the people of Japan in my prayers and wish them the best. After all I do care.
Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. by Eleanor Roosevelt
Doesn’t this quote sum up the media great? In from one of the liberal favorite president’s wife. Liberals always attack the people Sarah Palin, Rush, Beck, ect., but have you ever notice they never attack them on the issues? Why is that? It is becuase the Liberals cannot stand on their beliefs or they would never win. I mean how many Americas are for single-payer health care? Not many but yet Conyer said the other day that Obamacare is the platform to get us to single payer. Just like the American Solialist Norman Thomas said “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.” So think about that quote from Eleanor Roosevelt next time you watch the news or talk to your liberal friends. In think for yourself are you a great mind or a small mind.
